A new Splash Pad is coming for the new Rocking K Park. Kappcon is constructing an Arizona shaped Splash Pad that will serve the new 600 home community off of Old Spanish Trail. It will be the shape of the State of Arizona. Our team is doing a great job, we can’t wait to see it completed.
Kappcon General Contracting has teamed with Sierra Vista Unified School District and BWS Architects to construct a new MPR and Classroom Building at Pueblo Del Sol Elementary School. The work was started in March 2020 and Completed in November 2020.
We were proud to partner with the Rio Nuevo District, and Poster Mirto McDonald to move the historic structures off the new right-of-way at Broadway Blvd in Tucson, AZ.
Earlier this month, Kappcon and trade partner employees poured the largest concrete slab in our history. Poured in two separate evenings, the almost 900 yards of concrete will be the future home of the Tucson Cannabis Campus. This state of the art medical marijuana facility will be the largest in Arizona once completed.
Check out this incredible drone shot of the finished pad!
Kappcon would like to thank the hardworking employees of Calportland, Brundage-Bone, Luciano Concrete and Penhall for their partnership on this project.

Horseshoe Canyon is a special place on Kitt Peak. Our team was tasked with remediation of a developed telescope site and giving it back to nature. Our team walked through the site after the grading was completed. Next step is to re-plant the site with salvaged native plants, new plants from salvaged seeds, and to add a harvested hydro-seed mix.
Library Construction – Snapped this team picture during one of our punch list walks. A great reminder that every project has a Beginning, Middle, and END!!! Good job everybody.
The new splash pad at the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park is coming right along. The fountain heads are in place and concrete is being poured over an impressive rebar mat (see the photo above!). Then, we will hoist up the shade sails and test ‘er out!
Another fun fact about the splash pad is that on designated nights, it will double as an LED light and water show for park patrons. Speaking of light shows, stop by the Town of Marana’s July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular for some family fun.
Kappcon has partnered with Line + Space Architects and a host of incredible local subcontractors to remodel the Flowing Wells Library. Although the original structure will remain intact, the library will nearly double in size. The library addition will incorporate new teen and children’s areas, expanded computer work stations and a multipurpose room; all optimally designed to evoke community pride and encourage engagement.
Arizona Daily Star photojournalist Ron Medvescek visited the Flowing Wells Library site last month to document Kappcon’s demolition progress.
It’s pretty hard to believe that all this metal and concrete will one day look like Line + Space’s beautiful renderings! That’s the magic of commercial construction for you. We will be sure to keep you informed on the progress of this exciting project.

Catalina Terrace (CT) is a semi-public pool that has served families for 55 years in mid-Tucson…and it needed a restoration.
The Catalina Terrace Athletic Program community rallied under the leadership of a dedicated and passionate Not For Profit Board of Directors. They raised $220,000 for much needed improvements.
The project included complete pool shell renovation, pool plumbing renovation, electric, landscaping and perimeter fence/wall upgrades.
Kappcon was able to help the community by self-performing the pool deck and other concrete repairs, and perimeter wall masonry services.
Here is a look back at the work from the CTAP website posting:
